Susan Marie Arcaro, age 69, of Staten Island, New York, passed away on Monday, September 9, 2024. Born on October 15, 1954, to the late Francis A. McNiece and Joan (née Thompson), Susan was a lifelong Staten Islander who cherished her roots and community.
Susan attended St. Teresa Catholic Grammar School and Countess Moore Catholic High School, where she formed lifelong friendships and built a foundation of faith that carried her throughout her life. She was a devoted mother to her beloved son, Michael Arcaro, and a loving sister to Lois McNiece. Her faithful cat, Max was always by her side, providing companionship and comfort.
A hard worker, Susan was known for her dedication and strong work ethic, always holding down two jobs to provide for her family. Her kind heart extended beyond her loved ones—she was passionate about caring for the stray cats in her neighborhood, ensuring they were fed and even taking the sick ones to the vet. Her compassion for animals was one of her most endearing qualities.
Susan also loved shopping, finding joy in the simple pleasures of life. Her generosity, love, and kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A memorial Mass in Susan's honor will be held on her birthday, Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at 10:45 AM at St. Teresa Church, 1634 Victory Blvd, Staten Island, New York 10314.
May she rest in eternal peace.
