STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Native Staten Islander Sylvia Semple, 43, of South Beach, who had a love of music and was known for her beautiful smile, died Saturday in Staten Island Care Center, New Brighton.
Ms. Semple was a lifelong resident of South Beach.
A graduate of Susan Wagner High School, Ms. Semple went on to attend A Very Special Place, South Beach.
Ms. Semple loved music, especially the songs of Mariah Carey and Beyonce. She also enjoyed movies, watching TV, bowling and playing Bingo.
“She was my life, my best friend, my baby,” said her sister, Kim Semple. “She always had the most beautiful smile; she was always smiling.”
Ms. Semple attended Holy Rosary R.C. Church, South Beach.
In addition to her sister, Kim, she is survived by her brother, Darryl, and her sister, Phyllis Santiago.
The funeral is Thursday from the Virginia Funeral Chapel, Dongan Hills, with a mass at 9:30 a.m. in Holy Rosary Church. Burial will be in Moravian Cemetery, New Dorp.
