I am saddened to hear the passing of Teresa. A beautiful soul who played many roles and an impact on many lives. I am aware of how difficult this time is for you and your family. My beautiful 97 year old Abuelita passed away this morning surrounded by her daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren 🥲 Funny how this thing we call life works… as her 1st grandchild, she saw me take my 1st breaths in this world. Fifty-five years later, I watched her take her last breaths in this world! “Abuelita dale al abuelo un fuerte abrazo de mi parte, te amo por todo lo que eres!” 🙏🏼💔

Dear Soraya and Family,

I’ll always remember how sweet and welcoming your Mom was to me when we were children and even as a recent as a few years ago, when we went to visit her at home. 

You’re my sister from another mister, your Mom, Dad and Sisters were like an extended family to us. We loved growing up with you guys, as we all shared the same beliefs and revered our parents, how blessed are we to have had such amazing Parents.

Please rest easy knowing that your Mom is now back home with the Lord en la Gloria De Dios, en paz descanses. 

We are here for you and the family, keeping you and yours in our prayers and may your sweet Mom rest in sweet heavenly peace.

My dear Abuelita, I remember visiting your apartment since a kid, playing the little game with the silver marble in your drawer while you and mami talked. The relleno de papas and pan de yuca you would serve us was always on point. My father loved your pan de yuca so much he learned how to make it himself because he couldn’t resist. One of my favorite memories, we watched the Knicks vs Bulls on Easter many, many years ago and Melo had a legendary performance in the 4th quarter sending the game to overtime. Me and Chris jumped and screamed as Melo tied the game and then the Knicks won. Although you may haven’t been a fan of the game, the joy you had of watching me and Chris will always be a memory I cherish.  love you and will miss you very much, bendicion.

We are so sorry to hear of the passing of Soraya's Mom. May she rest in eternal peace and light Many blessings to her. Sending prayers and care to her family.

Mi Abuelita. I’ll always remember her  calling me in for dinner (Ginooo)  through the window that faced the basketball courts Behind her apartment.  . Coming Inside to a person who loved to watch me eat was always special. She would make me fried paparelleno and fresh yucabread . We had our own little language her broken English and  my broken Spanish but we read between the lines just fine and I always felt her bond and I always felt loved. I’ll miss her Dearly. I love you  Abuelita . Besitos.
