Her passing is preceded by her father, Richard Sr., her mother, Regina, her brother Richard Jr., and her sister Marian. She is survived by her brother Ray Sr. and her beloved nieces and nephews: Robin, Rick, Heather, Ray Jr., Brian, Chris, Gina, Damian, and Joe. Terry was born and raised in the Dongan Hills section of Staten Island, New York. After graduating from St. Joseph By The Sea High School in Staten Island and Pace University Westchester, Terry's calling became nursing and she became a registered nurse in the neo-natal unit and labor/delivery unit for the Elizabeth General Hospital/Trinitas Regional Medical Center in Elizabeth, New Jersey for over 35 years. She dedicated her life to helping mothers and their newborn children. Terry was an avid learner and picked up her Masters of Education as she worked full time as a nurse. Her dedication to helping children was apparent throughout her life and continued well into retirement.
She also enjoyed playing trivia games and making donations to many different charities. In her earlier years she loved to travel the globe. As her brothers and sister began to grow their families, Terry was very much the loving aunt. She loved taking them out to the movies and dinner and helping to babysit. She made sure presents and cards were sent on every birthday if she couldn't see them herself. Terry took pride in being the aunt that cared deeply about the children in her family.
In addition to doting upon her nine nieces and nephews, Terry loved her dog: Skippy, a rescue greyhound mix. She took over care for Skippy after her mother passed and adored her time with him. Skippy would sit with her after long shifts at the hospital and they'd watch TV shows and the news together. They are happily reunited in the next life.
There will be a gathering at Casey's Funeral Home at 9 am on December 5, 2024 followed by a mass at St. Theresa's Church at 10:30 am. Burial proceedings will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. All in Staten Island, New York.
In lieu of any floral arrangements, please make a kind donation to your local animal shelter or to the Tunnel To Towers Foundation.
