Theresa was everyone’s aunt. She welcomed everyone into her life and home. She loved the NY Yankees, Frank Sinatra, going to Atlantic City, playing bingo, crocheting baby sweater sets and afghans, getting her nails done and watching any movie that was filled with suspense. She often told the younger generation in the family of the days growing up on the Lower East Side and how she enjoyed Sunday afternoons with her mother going to the local movie theater. After graduating from high school and raising her son Anthony, she worked as a secretary at Prudential Insurance Company. Her son Anthony was her world.
Her favorite day of the year was Christmas. She decorated her apartment like a winter wonderland and under the nearly seven foot tree that was lit with hundreds of lights sat boxes of presents wrapped in gold paper and her famous handmade bows, there were so beautiful that we all hesitated to open them. We all looked forward to her homemade eggplant and Italian cookies she made from scratch, a recipe passed down from her mother.
Theresa is survived by her sister-in-law, Emma Pepe. Her nieces and nephews: Robert Russo, Debra Brennan, Robert Pepe, Eugene G. Pepe, Valerie Pepe, Nicole Pepe and Jackie Pepe and her future grandnephew, Jeff Mondlock (Nicole Pepe's fiancé), Fernando Quintero (Valerie Pepe’s significant other), Janet Casini-Pepe and Rosemarie Pepe. Theresa was predeceased by her parents, Mary and Antonio Pepe, her brother Eugene Pepe and her son, Anthony Sleavin.
