Thomas E. Barbieri of Staten Island passed away on August 5, 2018 in his home at the age of 73. He quickly succumbed to a battle with cancer. He was born in Brooklyn, New York to Robert and Marie Barbieri on October 28, 1944. He was loved by his wife Carol, his children Zoe and Thomas, daughter-in-law Dawn and three beautiful granddaughters, Sabrina, Julia and Christina. He is survived by his brothers Robert and Andrew and is predeceased by his sister Dolores. He was a long-term employee for the Port Authority of New York as a watch engineer. An avid lover of the outdoors and nature he spent many years vacationing in Cape Cod. Fishing, camping and walking the trails were some his most cherished moments. He loved to travel and enjoyed exploring new places. He will be fondly remembered by all of his family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The American Cancer Society or University Hospice.
A visitation for Thomas will be held Tuesday, August 7, 2018 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, 350 Slosson Ave, Staten Island, New York 10314. A funeral mass will occur Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at 11:15 AM at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, 5411 Amboy Rd, Staten Island, NY 10312. An entombment will occur at Cemetery of the Resurrection,361 Sharrotts Avenue, Staten Island NY 10309.
