Proud Navy veteran, retired executive, dedicated family man, 89 Thomas M. Sinnott Jr,, 89, of Meiers Corner, Staten Island, NY, passed away on Feb. 1, 2022. Born on Staten Island, he attended St. Peter's Boys High School, St. John's University, received a Master's in Business and worked as a paralegal. A radio technician while in the Navy, he received the National Defense Service Medal. He always proudly wore his Navy hat and stood tall when someone thanked him for his service. Mr. Sinnott was a retired vice president of Equitable Life Insurance. A longtime parishioner of St. Rita's, he participated in religious pilgrimages. He volunteered at Carmel Richmond Nursing, and was a world traveler who enjoyed going on cruises and to different countries to meet new people and explore exciting places. He was a fan of black and white films and TV shows, and enjoyed reading history. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and ensured they had a good education. Mr. Sinnott was the devoted husband of 56 years of the late Imelda (Mel) Dicks (d. 2011), the father of Thomas (deceased 2013), Joseph, Jerome, Patricia, Margaret; grandfather of 10 and great-grandfather of 12. He also leaves his brother Joseph and sister-in-law, Laura; daughters-in-law, Pat and Annette, sons in-laws Mike and Mike, many nieces and nephews. Visitation is on Sunday, Feb. 6, from 2-6 p.m. at Casey Funeral Home, 350 Slosson Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10314- (718) 447-4242. Funeral Mass is on Monday, Feb. 7, at 10 a.m. at St. Rita's Church followed by interment at St. Mary's Cemetery.
