Born on March 9th 1937 in Manhattan, NY to Mary & Juan Villacampa and passed away December 23rd 2021, Tom was the beloved husband of Elizabeth Villacampa and a devoted family man. Moving around NY, he first ended up settling down on Floyd Street in West Brighton, Staten Island and that is where he raised his family and where we all called home. He is survived by Elizabeth Villacampa, his wife of 61 years, three children; Sandra, Mary (Krzysztof) & Thomas (Melissa), four grandchildren; Elizabeth, Robert (Justine), Gabrielle (Louis), & Sophie and eight great grandchildren; Thomas, Gavin, Charlee Rose, Jonathan, Aria, Avery, Robert & Louie. His daughter, Laura, and grandson, Torrey, preceded him in his death. He was also adored by many canine companions over the years.
Nothing was more important to him than his family, chocolate donuts and his rocking chair. Most days you could find him, pipe in hand, watching TV and ready to give you advice, whether you wanted it or not. He will be known and loved for his quick wit, sarcastic sense of humor and tough exterior with a heart of gold, ready and willing to do anything for us whenever we needed (and we certainly needed). He spent his younger years working the piers in Brooklyn in the Import/Export Shipping business and was never short on stories of how things were done back then. He kept engaged in the business by remaining close with old friends and reading all things related to the Shipping Industry.
He will be missed dearly by all those who knew him.
Serenity Prayer
God grant me the Serenity
to accept the things I cannot change,
Courage to change the things I can,
and Wisdom to know the difference.
