Miss Me, But Let Me Go

When I come to the end of the road

And the sun has set for me

I want no rites in a gloom-filled room,

Why cry for a soul set free?

Miss me a little but not too long,

And not with your head bowed low,

Remember the love that we once shared.

Miss me . . . but let me go.

For this is a journey that we all must take,

And each must go alone.

It’s all a part of the master plan

A step on the road to home.

When you are lonely and sick of heart,

Go to the friends we know,

And bury your sorrow in doing good deeds,

Miss me . . . but let me go.

As the years advance we get to enjoy many additional moments of happiness, but unfortunately the added years also bring moments of sadness. We are experiencing that sadness and loss of some important part of all our lives at this time with the passing of Tom Walsh. His was a life nobly lived. I will remember him as a proud member of the NYPD and an unpretentious great Commanding Officer. I consider myself blessed because he was my mentor, Commanding Officer and a very special good friend. Among my memories will be the many social events that we enjoyed together with friends and our since departed spouses. Included in my thoughts will always be the joyous annual trips to Notre Dame to see a football game. I offer my deepest sympathy to Tom's family and friends. I will keep Tom's memory in my heart.----------- Jim McCabe

Rest In Peace.. it was a pleasure being your neighbor! When we moved in you were the first to welcome us to the neighborhood! I will miss our conversations and miss seeing you in your porch!
