

She was born and raised Veronica DeNuzzia in Brooklyn, and graduated from Bay Ridge High School. She moved to Staten Island in 1964, settling in Eltingville, and relocated to Aberdeen two years ago.
"She was dedicated to everybody in the family, including nieces and nephews, and was always there for whatever anyone needed," said her daughter, Joyanne Johnston. "She was also totally honest and candid, and had a wry sense of humor."
Mrs. Magrino loved flowers, and was an avid perennial gardener. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting, and was an excellent cook, famous for her meatballs and special Christmas cookies called "Crispatels."
A long-time parishioner of Holy Child R.C. Church in Annadale, she was a generous contributor and an active volunteer at its functions and events, and a member of the senior citizens club.
Her husband of 41 years, Daniel, died in 1986.
Surviving, along with her daughter, Joyanne, are her daughter, Celeste DeMarco; her sons, William and Daniel Jr.; seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Her husband of 41 years, Daniel, died in 1986.
The funeral will be Friday from the Casey McCallum Rice South Shore Funeral Home, Great Kills, with a mass at 11 a.m. in Holy Child Church. Burial will follow in Ocean View Cemetery, Oakwood.
