

Born in Manhattan's Harlem neighborhood, he attended Flushing High School.
Mr. Fitzpatrick served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, stationed stateside in Mississippi. He was a member of the Cichon Post, American Legion.
After he and native Islander Dorothy Donovan were married in 1949, the couple moved to Elm Park. They settled in Westerleigh in 1951.
Mr. Fitzpatrick relished celebrations held for the couple's 50th wedding anniversary, as well as those for his his wife's 90th birthdays.
He worked as an administrator for the New York City Employee Retirement System in Manhattan for many years, retiring in 1982.
When his children were younger, Mr. Fitzpatrick was a member of the Fathers' Clubs at St. Teresa's School and Monsignor Farrell and Moore Catholic high schools.
"He loved to spend time with his grandchildren, Meaghan, Kaitlin, Julianne and Bryan," said his son, Kevin. "He would baby-sit them, play games with them, just be with them."
Mr. Fitzpatrick also enjoyed going on family vacations and collecting coins and stamps.
He was a parishioner of St. Teresa's R.C. Church, Castleton Corners, where he was a member of the Holy Name Society.
Surviving, along with Dorothy, his wife of 62 years, his son, Kevin, and his grandchildren, is his daughter, Elaine Fitzpatrick-Carman.
The funeral will be Tuesday from the Casey Funeral Home, Castleton Corners, with a mass at 10:30 a.m. in St. Teresa's Church. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery, West Brighton.
