When he left Italy, he first moved to Venezuela then California with his late brothers Michael and Luca. He then migrated to Jackson Heights Queens where he met his wife Cecilia Colatorti. He later lived in Brooklyn, Canarsie then finally settled in Staten Island.
Vito worked almost almost 35 years with the DC9 International Brotherhood of Painters.
He is survived by his wife Cecilia of 51 years, his sons Vincent and Joseph, grandsons Vincent and Michael, sister Lina Pietroforte.
Vito will sorely be missed by all those who have had the pleasure of knowing him.
A visitation for Vito will be held Sunday, May 16, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Casey McCallum Rice South Shore Funeral Home, 30 Nelson Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10308. A funeral service will occur Monday, May 17, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Clare Church, 110 Nelson Ave, Staten Island, NY 10301. A committal service will occur Monday, May 17, 2021 from 11:30 AM to 11:45 AM at Resurrection Cemetery, 361 Sharrott Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10309.
