William was a seaman on a troop ship in Merchant Marines and also became a corporal in the U.S. Army Air corps.
William spent 25 years in N.Y.C. Sanitation Department. Received Rank Of District Supt. He later then spent 12 years as Postal Police officer before retiring in 1990. William loved dogs and animals. He also enjoyed spending his time Gardening, painting as well as putting puzzles together. William was a member of Kells – Grennie Post 316, American Legion
