William L. Mezier Jr.

William L. Mezier, Jr. of Westerleigh, passed away suddenly on Friday February 19, 2021 at Richmond University Medical Center. William (Bill), was born on September 13, 1940 to Elizabeth (Heerbrandt) and William Mezier Sr. Bill was a graduate of Curtis High School and served for seven years with the Army Reserves. In 1963 Bill joined the FDNY and proudly worked as a firefighter for 35 years. Bill loved being a firefighter and worked for ladder 15 in NYC. Bill was a member of the FDNYs St. George Society, Uniformed Firefighters Association and the Staten Island Fire Department Retirees. Bill was also a faithful parishioner of The Church of the Ascension for all of his life. In 1968 Bill married the love of his life Elizabeth (Karasinski). Bill was the proud father of William (Billy) III and Kimberly (Lombardi). He was the proud father in law of Joseph Lombardi. Bill was a proud and amazing grandfather (Papa) to Noelle and Dylan Lombardi. In his spare time, Bill enjoyed spending time with his brothers, Robert and Steven Mezier, hunting at Fins, Furs and Feathers in Fishs Eddy, NY. Bill took great pride in gardening and the beautiful garden he had created over the years in his backyard. Bill is survived by his wife Elizabeth, children William, Kimberly, son in law Joseph Lombardi and his grandchildren Noelle and Dylan Lombardi. He is also survived by his two brothers Robert and Steven Mezier (sister in law Janice Mezier). Family requests In lieu of flowers please purchase a Mass card at any Church of choice.
