

Mr. Benton Bacon, age 70, died Saturday, August 16, 2015 after a lengthy illness , at his home surrounded by family . Mr. Benton, a Bulloch County native, attended Nevils School, then spent many years farming . For 18 years Mr. Benton worked as a mechanic for Mr. Emory Deloach’s Service Station in Denmark. He enjoyed spending time with his family, mowing and raking his yard and sitting in his back yard listening to his favorite music on his radio. Mr. Benton is preceded in death by a sister, Edith Kirby; and brothers, Sheldon Bacon, Colen Bacon, Jimmy Bacon, and Junior Bacon.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Mrs. Willadean Tucker Bacon, Brooklet; daughter, Teresa Bacon, Meldrim ; son, Dewayne Bacon(Betty); Statesboro; grandson, Joshua Miller, Meldrim; granddaughters, Amanda Bacon and Tiffany Miller; sisters, Nilaree Thomas, Statesboro and Pearl Hagan, Pembroke; Sister and brother-in-laws, Becky Fallen(Tommy), Moultrie, Diane Herb (John), Pembroke and Robert Tucker, Thomasville, GA., several nephews and cousins also survive.
Visitation will be held Thursday August 20, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. until noon at Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held Thursday afternoon , August 20, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Hodges-Moore Funeral Home with Pastor Patrick McElveen officiating.
Burial will follow at Red Hill Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
