February 15, 1921 – May 7, 2018
Betty Rowell Bullington, 97 years young, formerly of Blue Bird Road, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Monday, May 7, 2018 at Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro.
Betty was an inspiration to all that met her. She was born February 15, 1021 to James B. and Louise Daniel Rowell in a small community called Greens Cut near Waynesboro. She relocated to Augusta in her teens and after graduating from high school, married William Forrest Bullington, who preceded her in death in 1974. Betty was self-employed as a beautician in her own shop for 63 years.
After the death of her husband, Betty started square dancing and met her square dance partner and friend, Jim Highland. She and Jim danced together for 40 years. Betty absolutely loved to square dance and made that her favorite pastime along with gardening in her backyard. “In the Garden” was her favorite song and her devoted faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was her strength and her rock that she leaned on throughout her life.
She was a lifetime member of St. Mark United Methodist Church and made sure that all of her children were raised in the church and it was her faith and constant prayers that made them all what they are today. We will always be grateful for her guidance and support in all that we have become. We thank God for choosing her to be our mom. Her legacy will live on with five generations.
In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by all of her siblings and a special grandson, Russell David Belding.
Betty is survived by her children, Brenda Belding McRae and husband, Randy; William Forrest Bullington, Jr and wife, Cynthia and Anne Bullington Loper and husband, Henry; six grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.

So sorry to learn of Betty's passing. Our condolences to all her family. We enjoyed many good times Western Square Dancing where we often saw Betty & Jim. She truly enjoyed the fun experienced at these dances. Dance and rejoice is stated in the Bible. No doubt, Betty is now dancing in heaven with her many other friends who had gone on before her.
