

Mrs. Billie Dean Hamilton Morgan, age 83, died late Thursday at the Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Facility. She was born in Morgan County, Alabama, was a longtime resident of Bulloch County and was a member of the Nevils United Methodist Church. Mrs. Morgan enjoyed spending time with her family, sewing, crocheting, and fishing. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Harvey Hamilton and Virginia Belle Lewis Hamilton and two brothers, Rudolph Hamilton and Bobby Carter. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Warren Getzen Morgan; and two sons, Gregory and Billy Morgan; and two sons-in-law, Johnny Poteat and Winston Stills.
Survivors include four daughters, Jeannette (John Charles) Brannen of Statesboro, Diane Poteat of Lincolnton, Jenny (Donnie) Mallard of Brooklet, and Paulette Stills of Statesboro; one son, Buddy (Amy) Morgan of Statesboro; one daughter-in-law, Rhonda Morgan of Statesboro; thirteen grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Saturday from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held Sunday at 2:00 P.M. at Nevils United Methodist Church with Rev. Frank Morris officiating. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.
Pallbearers will be Mrs. Morgan’s grandsons and great grandsons.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
