Charles R. Deal

Mr. Deal was born in Metter and had lived in Collins, Cobbtown and Brooklet before moving to Portal. He was a 1972 graduate of Southeast Bulloch High School and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was preceded in death by his mother, Gladys Sikes Deal; brother, Danny Deal and his father-in-law, Guy Hooks.

Charlie is survived by his wife of 39 years, Jennie Hooks Deal, Portal; father, Edward Deal, Brooklet; daughters, Ashlee Elizabeth Hooks Corbin and her husband, Jason and Cristy Graham Brazell and her husband, Wally all of Portal; sister, Joyce Fountain, Pembroke; mother-in-law, Polly Hodges Hooks, Statesboro; sisters-in-law, Marie Hooks, Statesboro and JoAnn Mock, Guyton; brother-in-law, Melvin Guy Hooks and his wife, Susan, Statesboro; half-brother, Billy Gillespie and his wife, Dorothy, Statesboro; step-sisters, Gail Murry and her husband, David, Nevils and Debra Wothe and her husband Pat, Meldrim; step-brother, Dean Rigdon and his wife, Joyce, Brooklet; one very much loved grandchild, Kelly Ann Brazell, Portal; many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, February 16, 2014 in the Chapel of Hodges-Moore Funeral Home with the Reverend Johnny Beasley officiating. Burial will be held privately.
