Doris Cannon Lee

Doris was a native on Telfair County and had lived in Statesboro for most of her life. She was a member of Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church and worked as a nurse for Dr. Albert Deal from 1960 until her retirement in 1988.

Doris was preceded in death by her first husband of 35 years, Carroll Cannon and her second husband of 20 years, Winston Lee. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Mabel Gay, Pete Barlow, Bub Barlow and Henry Barlow.

Mrs. Lee is survived by her sons, Ray Cannon of Statesboro; Ronnie Cannon and his wife, Linda of The Villages, Florida and Raybon Cannon and his wife, Julia of Cumming, GA; two grandchildren; five great grandchildren; special niece, Lynelle Rushing of Statesboro and several other nieces and nephews.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 PM on Friday, November 18, 2016 in Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held 3:00 PM Friday, November 18, 2016 in the chapel of Hodges-Moore Funeral Home with Elder Randy Waters officiating.

Burial will follow in Eastside Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be John Cannon, James Cannon, Steve Copeland, Michael Copeland, Jerry Rushing, Jr. and Jeffery Rushing.

Honorary pallbearers will be Charles and Wylette Mallard, Henrietta Royal, Gail Chester, Louise Morgan, Ann Hall, Fred and Karen Grabenstein.
