

Ms. Erlene Marsh Rowland, age 63 , died Monday evening, December3, 2012 in Augusta at The Medical College of Georgia following a brief illness. Ms. Rowland was a native of Emanuel County and graduate of Swainsboro High School. She moved to Statesboro in 1979, then to Tampa Florida, where she resided for ten years. In 2006 she returned to Statesboro to be closer to her granddaughter. Ms. Rowland was a children’s pastor at many churches throughout her life. She loved teaching children God’s Word; most recently serving as Children’s pastor at Savannah Christian Church, Effingham Campus. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who will be sadly missed. Ms. Rowland is preceded in death by a daughter, Monica Rowland Evans, a son, Jeremy Rowland, her parents, Buck and Annie Marsh, and two brothers, Melvin and Phil Marsh.
Survivors include her daughter and son in law, Melba and Tracy Waters of Statesboro, a granddaughter, Monica Taylor “MeMe’s Princess” Waters; three sisters, Shelby Chance, Gail Williamson and Marie Brown; sister in law, Angie Marsh; many nieces and nephews ,and best friends, Linda Morris and Kaye Brooks.
Visitation will be held Wednesday night, 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the home of Andy and Whitney Howard Richland, 4199 Cypress Lake Road, Statesboro, Ga. 30458.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Savannah Christian Church, Henderson Campus , 55 Al Henderson Blvd., Savannah, GA 31419, with Dr. Dale Brooks and Pastor Lyle Wood officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Children’s Ministry at Savannah Christian Church, 810 Fort Howard Rd. Rincon, Ga. 31326.
