

Mrs. Ethlyn H. Scott, age 96, passed away early Thursday morning, April 28 at Bethany Nursing Center in Millen, Ga. Prior to her stay at Bethany, she was a longtime resident of Statesboro. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elder T. Roe Scott after sixty four years of marriage, three brothers, and six sisters. Mrs. Scott was born in Rainesville, Alabama, one of eleven children of Dr. and Mrs. J. D. Hall. She was the oldest member of the Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, James H. Scott (Shirley) of Aiken, SC; two daughters, Rose Ann Hoban (Robert) of Stanley, NC, and Elaine Richter (Dorsey) of Statesboro, GA; one sister, Doris Willingham of Ft. Payne, Alabama; two sisters-in-law, Hazel Scott of Ft. Payne, Alabama and Merita Hauserman of Lake Toxaway, NC; five grandchildren, Michael Scott (Susan) of Chickamauga, GA, Kelli Jones (Gary) of Aiken, SC, Nancy Ingold (Cory) of Suwanee, GA, Alicia Hoban and Amanda Shannabarger (Jason) of Denver, NC; seven great grandchildren, Blake, Katie, and Brooke Cantrelle of Aiken, SC, Jenna and Claire Shannabarger of Denver, NC, Blair and Anna Grace Ingold of Suwanee, GA; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Friday from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. at Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held Saturday at 2:00 P.M. at the Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church with Elder William H. Durrence and Elder Randy Waters officiating.
Active pallbearers will be deacons of the Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Cora Williams and Mina Franklin Circles of the Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church.
Burial will be in Bulloch Memorial Gardens.
