Evelyn Deal

Evelyn Campbell Deal, age 82, passed away in her home Friday morning. She lived in Bulloch County most of her life, and was a member of Emit Grove Baptist Church. She owned and operated Evelyn’s Beauty Shop until she and her husband started American Gardens Nursery. Evelyn and her husband Joe co-founded the “Hits and Mrs. Bowling League”, where she remained secretary until her death. Mrs. Deal was preceded in death by her husband, Joe C. Deal, Sr., her parents, Ambrose and Abbie Campbell, her sisters, Eunice Hollingsworth and Bernice Brannen and her brothers, Howell Campbell and Pete Campbell .

Survivors include a daughter, Sherry Miller Knight (Michael), Savannah, a son, Charles Gary Miller (Treasea), Tacoma, WA, step children,, Pam Boyce (Donald), Midway, Ga. Joe C. Deal, Jr. (Elaine), Louden, TN, Ronnie Deal, (Nan), Athens, Ga.; two granddaughters, 8 step grandchildren, 7 step great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held Sunday evening, 5-7 p.m. at Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Hodges-Moore Funeral Home with Reverend Tim Huffingham officiating.

Entombment will follow the service in Bulloch Memorial Gardens.

Pall bearers will be Roy Brannen, Craig Brannen, Phil Campbell, Donald Boyce, Brandon Boyce and Ryan Boyce.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the local bowling leagues.

Hodges- Moore funeral Home of Statesboro is in charge of arrangements.
