

Mrs. Florence D. “Flo” Jones, age 80, died Thursday at Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Facility. She was born in Huntington, WV and had lived in Statesboro for the last fifty years. Mrs. Jones was a member of Pittman Park United Methodist Church where she was active in the Woody Powell Sunday School Class. She was a volunteer at the food bank, enjoyed mall walking, and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband, C.W. Jones, Jr. of Statesboro; her children, Jeanne Anne (Hugh) Marsh of Statesboro, Charles Wilton (Charlene) Jones, III of Atlanta, Mark (Sandie) Jones of Statesboro, Bruce (Margie) Jones of Statesboro, and Lori (Richard) Deal of Statesboro; six grandchildren, Kim (Scott) Kaiser, Keith (Ryan) Marsh, Ryan Jones, Erin Jones, Will Jones, and Rick Deal; three great grandchildren, Smith and Tanner Kaiser, and Ben Marsh; her sister, Cecilia (Bill) Garst of Salem, VA, her brothers, Richard “Dick” (Nicki) Darragh of Roanoke, VA, Robert (Beth) Darragh of Roanoke, VA, and her sister, Sally (Johnny) Ewart of Roanoke, VA; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Saturday from 9:30 until 11:00 AM in the parlor of Pittman Park United Methodist Church.
The funeral service will be held Saturday at 11:00 A.M. at Pittman Park United Methodist Church with Rev. Tim Steffen officiating.
Active pallbearers will be Keith Marsh, Rick Deal, Will Jones, Ryan Jones, Hugh Marsh, and Richard Deal.
Honorary pallbearers will be Flo’s friends in the Birthday Club and the Dairy Queen Coffee Club.
Interment will be in Bulloch Memorial Gardens.
