She was born April 12, 1930 in Toomsboro, GA in Wilkinson County to Dennard Ralston and Clara Tarpley Freeman. After graduating high school, she attended Georgia Teachers’ College in Statesboro. She was a homemaker and drove a school bus for the Bulloch County Board of Education for many years. She loved the Lord and in the past was a substitute piano player at Temple Hill Baptist Church. More recently, she attended Gracewood Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Ewell Bloys Bailey; her parents; three brothers, James R. Freeman, Joseph R. Freeman and Roswell Freeman and grandson, Eric Steven Browning.
She is survived by three daughters, E. Dean Davis (Billy) of Statesboro; Sandra Browning (Steve) of Greenville, SC and Wanda Bibens (Todd) of Cocoa, FL; three grandsons, Michael Benton of Kennesaw; Nicholas Benton of Statesboro and Jeff W. Davis of Hamilton, AL, 5 great grandchildren; two nieces, Robin Freeman Collette (Tim) of Bishop, GA and Marie Cunningham (Ray) of Salem, OR; three nephews, Steven Freeman (Brenda) of Austin, TX; Robert Freeman of Toomsboro and Joseph Freeman of Athens, GA.
Visitation will be held 11:00 am until 1:00 pm Thursday, January 16 in Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.
A celebration of her life will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, January 16 in the Chapel of Hodges-Moore Funeral Home with the Reverend Carlton Hendricks officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
