Georgia Ellen Gay, age 77, passed away in her residence on Sunday, December 9, 2018.
Georgia was born and raised in Savannah, where she attended Jenkins High School. While in Savannah, she worked as a newspaper carrier for the Savannah Morning News for more than 20 years and worked as a Para-professional in the Chatham County Schools. Georgia then moved to Lake Sinclair, where she lived for 14 years and continued to work as a Para-professional in the Baldwin County Schools. Nineteen years ago, she re-located to Brooklet and worked in the Bulloch County Schools until her retirement.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Willa Mae Stephens Brigdon.
Georgia is survived by her husband, Willie D. Gay; daughters, Donna Gay and Susan Rentz and her husband, Joseph; sons, Richard Gay and Daniel Gay and his wife, Stacie all of Brooklet; sister, Terry Nesmith of Savannah; brother, Richard Brigdon and his wife, Cathy of Savannah; four grandchildren, Joseph Rentz, William Rentz, Jacob Gay and Lillian Gay; one great- grandchild, Marcus Cole Rentz; several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
