

Hazel Williams Brown, 86, died peacefully Tuesday, July 1, 2014 in Ogeechee Area Hospice surrounded by her loving family.
Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies. Proverbs 31:10
Hazel Williams Brown was trained as a teacher but soon after found her joy in being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her home was her testimony. It was always welcoming and full of laughter and food. It was the place where her family gathered to celebrate, to love, to pray, to learn and to grieve. She was passionate about gardening, sewing, baking and her grand and great grandchildren. Her family and community admired her devotion. She will be missed. She was a life time resident of Bulloch County and a faithful member of Old Fellowship Baptist Church, where she attended church to worship her Savior and where she served others. Hazel was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Donald Roberts Brown and her brother, Clinton Merritt Williams, Jr.
She is survived by 4 daughters and sons-in-law, Lynn (Jerry) Williams of Stilson; Faye (Joe) Hulst of Brooklet; Brenda (Bill) Schrepel of Stilson and Becky (Gary) Futch of Statesboro; nine grandchildren, Donnie (Jennifer) Williams, Luke (Jennifer) Williams, Sara (Chris) Peisher, Allison (Reggie) Beasley, Kathryn (Scott) Newman, Eric (Jennifer) Schrepel, David (Blair) Schrepel, Brooke (Lee) McGill and Leslie Hastings; 16 great grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law, Betty Glenn of Brooklet and Sandra (Ben) Cooley of Hawkinsville, GA, numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held 6:00 – 8:00 PM Saturday, July 5 in Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, July 6 in Old Fellowship Baptist Church with Dr. Reland Morgan and Dr. John Parker officiating.
The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.
Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
