

Mr. James Ronald Hotchkiss, age 70, died early Sunday, December 5, 2010 at the Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Facility. He was born in the Middleground Community and was a lifelong resident of Bulloch County. Mr. Hotchkiss worked for Derst Baking Company and retired after thirty years of service. After retiring, he also worked for the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Department and Mallard Auto Parts. He was a member of the Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church, and the Ogeechee Lodge #213 F & AM. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney and Edna Akins Hotchkiss, and an infant son, Gregory James Hotchkiss.
Survivors include his wife of forty eight years, Crystal DeLoach Hotchkiss; his daughter and son-in-law, Ronda Kay Hotchkiss Durden and Bobby Durden; his son and daughter-in-law, Jamie Christopher and Anna Kay Kennedy Hotchkiss; four grandchildren, Cristin Lee Durden, BJ Durden, Evan Hotchkiss, and Bobbie Anna Hotchkiss; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Leo and Carolyn Hotchkiss, and Foy and Gerry Hotchkiss, all of Statesboro; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Monday from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M. at Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Hodges-Moore Funeral Home with Elder Randy Waters officiating.
Burial will be in Eastside Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Don Allen, Lavon Deal, Donald Donaldson, James Newsome, Joe Newsome, and Lewell Turner,
