James Howell Scott, 75, of Aiken, SC, passed from this life May 3rd, 2012, surrounded by his family. He leaves behind his loving wife and constant partner of 52 years, Shirley Scott. "Jimmy" Scott was born Sept 2, 1936 in Chavies, on Sand Mountain, AL, to Thomas Roe Scott and Margaret Ethlyn (Hall) Scott. When his father was called to the ministry, the family moved to Miami, FL, where Jimmy graduated from Miami Jackson High School. He was a football letterman, and often talked of his high school memories. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Marine Corps, attended Florida State University and Georgia Southern University, and then earned a law degree at Woodrow Wilson Law School (Georgia State) in Atlanta, while working full-time to support his young family. Jim had a terrific sense of humor, was a dedicated (and gifted) gardener, and he was strong in his Christian faith. He and Shirley loved keeping up with sports together, especially Georgia football, The Masters, and Nascar. He dearly loved his family and cherished the times when we were all together.
Jim Scott "Pa-Pa" is survived by his wife Shirley, son Mike Scott (Susan) of Chickamauga, GA, daughter Kelli Jones (Gary) of Aiken, SC, daughter Nancy Ingold (Corey) of Suwanee, GA, sister Rose Ann Hoban (Bob) of Stanley, NC, sister Elaine Richter (Dorsey) of Statesboro, GA, and five grandchildren: Blake, Katie and Brooke Cantrell, and Anna and Blair Ingold.
