John Howard Luna

Mr. John Howard Luna, age 55, passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2017.

Mr. Luna was a native of Huntsville , AL, but lived nearly his entire life in Bulloch County. He was a 1980 graduate of Southeast Bulloch High School. After graduation, Mr. Luna joined the U.S. Navy , retiring after 21 years. He served his country as an air traffic controller at South Weymouth Naval Air Station in South Weymouth, Massachusetts. He resided in Massachusetts for 18 years before returning to Bulloch County 12 years ago. He worked in the IT department at Georgia Southern University for 10 years. In his spare time, Mr. Luna enjoyed fishing and spending time with family. He is preceded in death by his father, Jesse Howard Luna.

Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Kristin B. Luna, of Nevils; children, Jason Luna, KY, Elizabeth Grady (Jamie), Brooklet, Hilary Luna Lindsey (Daniel), Savannah, Amanda Maher (Fran), MA, and Kyle Aucella, MA; 6 grandchildren; parents, Bobby Jack and Gail Colson, Register and sister, Cindy Luna, Register.

Visitation will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Hodges-Moore Funeral Home .

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Hodges-Moore Funeral Home with the Reverend Patrick McElveen officiating.
