

Mr. Lastinger was a native and lifelong resident of Statesboro and worked many years as a mechanic with the State of Georgia. He was a member of Clito Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and was a former Mason. Lemuel enjoyed fishing, gardening, spending time with his family and especially enjoyed playing the harmonica.
Mr. Lastinger is survived by his son, Rodney Lastinger and his wife, Lynn of Statesboro; daughters, Donna Faye Beasley and her husband, Melvin of Metter; Edna L. Rogers and her husband, Don of Midway; Rita Woods and her husband, Jake of Statesboro and Tonya Rollins and her husband, James of Portal; brother, Wallace Lastinger and his wife, Barbara of Lawton, OK; sisters, Clady Perkins of Rincon and Bernie Lastinger of Monks Corner, SC; 13 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 11:00 am to 1:00 pm Wednesday, August 5, 2015 in Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, August 5, 2015 in the Chapel of Hodges-Moore Funeral Home with Reverend J. D. Turner and Reverend John Forrester officiating. Burial will follow in Bulloch Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Clint Porter, Hunter Aldrich, Cody Hodges, Lane Williams, Zach Lastinger and Rusty Beasley.
Honorary pallbearers will be Deacons of Clito Baptist Church.
The family wishes to thank the staffs of Ogeechee Area Hospice and Brown’s Nursing Home for the extraordinary care and love provided to Mr. Lastinger during his illness.
