Margaret was born in Orlando Florida on October 19, 1931to the late Monroe and R.E. Aldrich and was raised in Statesboro. She married Harvey Quarles and moved to Lincolnton, Georgia, she raised her two sons and called home for 35 years. She was retired from the Oxford Manufacturing Co. in Lincolnton, where she was employed for over 30 years.
Her love for the Lord was professed throughout her life. She was a member of Jones Chapel Church in Lincolnton Georgia and enjoyed fellowship with the women of the church. After moving back to Statesboro she attended several different churches and loved them all dearly. She would hold prayer meetings in her home and afterwards, they would fellowship while enjoying good southern cooking. For the past year she attended Grace Covenant Church of God in South Carolina with her son.
Mother loved being with family and friends and especially enjoyed the Christmas holiday, decorating and cooking with family. She enjoyed making crafts, sewing, embroidery, canning and planting flowers.
Her family included sons, Ronnie Blizzard (Linda), Terry Quarles (Mytoucha). Grandchildren, Heather Willingham(Kyle), Chrystal Wade, Tara Nelson (Michael), Justin Quarles (Brandy). Great Grandchildren, Eric Wade, Diane Ray, Katie Nelson, Kimmie Nelson, Paige Wade, Corina Wade, Braedyn Quarles, Wyatt Quarles. Brothers and Sisters included Sylvia Hill, Talmadge Aldrich (Betty), Aubrey Aldrich (Joyce), Joyce Saxon (Ray), Harold Aldrich, Deborah Harville (Herman). She was preceded in death by siblings Ralph Aldrich, Clemmie Aldrich, Jerry Aldrich and Gloria Crosby. She also had several nieces and nephews she loved very much.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 30th from 6-8 p.m. at Hodges-Moore Funeral Home in Statesboro Georgia.
The service will be in the Chapel of the funeral home on Wednesday, May 31 at 11:00 am, with Pastor Edgar Foster of Grace Covenant Church of God officating.
Interment will be at Middleground Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Justin Quarles, Stacy Hall, Todd Aldrich, Dell Saxon, Jayson Harville, Allen Aldrich.
In Lieu of Flowers, memorials in her honor may be made to Grace Covenant Church of God, 703 North Main Street, P.O. Box 28, New Ellenton, S. C. 29809.
