
He graduated from Sylvania High School, where he was President of the graduating class and was an outstanding athlete. He attended Geneva College in Beaver Falls, PA and spent 68 years in the construction industry before retiring.
He held Georgia State Masters Licenses in the Electrical, Air Conditioning and Plumbing fields, South Carolina State Masters Plumbing License and served on a number of construction industry boards.
A veteran of World War II, he successfully completed the Aviation Cadet Training Program, graduating as a Flight Officer and Bombardier. He subsequently served as a crew member and bombardier aboard a B29 super fortress.
Before retiring, he was a member of the Statesboro Rotary Club and served on the Bulloch County Alcohol and Drug Abuse Council. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Statesboro. He was preceded in death by his wife, Floreine Howard Jordan.
He is survived by one son, Dr. Steve Jordan of Statesboro; four grandchildren, Alison, Steve Jr. and Spencer of Statesboro and David of Albany.
A private graveside funeral service will be held Thursday, November 5, 2015 in Eastside Cemetery with Dr. H. William Perry officiating.
