Mary Norman Kling

Mrs. Mary Josie Gladin Kling, age 94, passed away December 26, 2018 at Pruitthealth Hospice in Savannah. Mrs. Kling was born August 4, 1924 in Sandersville, Ga. and was a 1942 graduate of Brooklet High School. Mrs. Kling was an avid Bridge player and creatively skillful Scrabble player. During her younger years she served as a Girl Scout Leader and Women’s Club member. As a breast cancer survivor herself, of 48 years, Mrs. Kling was a passionate advocate and supporter for others surviving this disease. She is predeceased by parents, John and Cynthia Gladin; husbands, John J. Norman and William F. Kling; ten siblings; daughter, Patricia Vetter and great- great-granddaughter, Roselyn Busbee. Survivors include two daughters, Norma Douglas, Savannah, Ga. and Lynda Scott, Riverview, FL; four grandchildren, Buddy Busbee, St. Simons Island, Daniel Busbee, Richmond Hill, Billy Vetter, Sharon Springs, NY, and Gretchen Schuyler of Ft. Plain, NY; eight great- grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends of all ages. A gathering of friends and family will be held Saturday from 1-2 p.m. at Hodges-Moore Funeral Home. The memorial service for Mrs. Kling will begin at 2 p.m.in the Chapel of Hodges-Moore Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to the American Cancer Society or a hospice organization of your choice.
