Mildred Louise Lee Harvey

Mrs. Harvey was born July 9, 1921 in Leefield, GA and spent most of her life in Bulloch County. She graduated from Brooklet High School in 1938 and enjoyed hosting her class reunions for many years. She was a member of Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church, Mina Franklin Circle, American Legion Auxiliary and was a Girl Scout Leader. She was a wonderful homemaker, cook and was famous for her macaroni and cheese and caramel cakes. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, traveling with her husband and daughters, entertaining family and friends and adored her beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, George P. Lee, Sr. and Candacie Bennett Lee; husband, H. V. Harvey, Jr.; brothers, George P. Lee, Jr. and Bennett Lee; sister, Annie Mae Shealy Deloach and son-in-law, Bill H. Simmons.

She is survived by her four daughters, Linda Lee Simmons of Statesboro; Patricia Duke (Derek) of Statesboro; Jackie Booth (John) of Thomasville, GA and Holly Cassedy (Ricky) of Statesboro; 6 grandchildren, Candace Cassedy Smith (Chris) of Statesboro; Carey Cassedy Melton (Jimmy) of Statesboro; Justin M. Booth (Michelle) of San Diego, CA; Jessica Booth Maddox (Brian) of Los Angeles, CA; Lee Duke (Laura) of Palm City, FL; Skye Duke (Kristi) of Savannah, GA; 2 step-granddaughters, Mandy Simmons Naser (Randy) of Lake Hartwell, GA and Melynda Simmons Wakeman (Rufus) of Jenson Beach, FL; 10 great-grandchildren and 4 step great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends and family 5 to 7 PM on Wednesday, August 27 at Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, August 28 at Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Randy Waters officiating. Burial will be in Eastside Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church, 4 South Zetterower Ave., Statesboro, GA 30458, Ogeechee Area Hospice, P.O. Box 531, Statesboro, GA 30459 or the charity of your choice.

Pallbearers will be grandsons Justin Booth, Lee Duke, Skye Duke, Chris Smith, Jimmy Melton and Brian Maddox.
