Minnie Adele Lee

Minnie was a native and lifelong resident of Bulloch County and was a 1944 graduate of Register School. She was the youngest child of seven born to Charles Henry and Janie Virginia Rowe Jones. Minnie worked many years on the family farm and then she and her husband, James owned and operated Lee’s Grocery from 1966 to 1973. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church, was a homemaker and loved to cook and bake and she especially enjoyed having family and friends eat in her home. Minnie was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, two sisters and her husband of 51 years, James Frank Lee.

Mrs. Lee is survived by her sons, Dennis Lee and his wife, Angela and Timmy Lee all of Statesboro; daughters, Margie L. Jones and her husband, Bruce and Janice Dowdy and her husband, Mike all of Statesboro; 11 grandchildren, Ginger, Denise, Gabby, Casey, Kelly, Jamey, Kandice, Evan, Katie, Hanna and Will; 6 great-grandchildren, Camden, Maddox, Mina, Harker, Kelsey and Austin; several nieces and nephews.

A graveside funeral service will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, November 1, 2015 in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery with Dr. John Forrester officiating.
