Mrs. Wilson was a native and lifelong resident of Bulloch County and was a 1955 graduate of Marvin-Pittman School. She worked as a machinist with Cooper Wiss retiring with 20 years of service and had also been employed with the J. P. Stephens Co and Loxcreen Co. She was an avid gardener and was a member of Blitchton Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Alvin Blackburn, Sr. and Vinnie Morris Blackburn, her husband, James “Big Jimmy” Roy Wilson and her brother, Vernon E. Blackburn.
Mrs. Wilson is survived by 3 sons, Jimmy Wilson, Jr.; Wyman Wilson; Gregory A. Wilson and his wife Bonnie all of Brooklet; brother, Thomas Blackburn and his wife Kathy of Statesboro; 3 sisters, Eva Stewart of Nevils; Judy Key and her husband Randy of Statesboro and Martha Blackburn of Statesboro; 5 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held 5:00 – 8:00 PM Tuesday, April 15 in Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 16 in the Chapel of Hodges-Moore Funeral Home with the Reverend Bill Eller officiating. Burial will be in Bulloch Memorial Gardens.
