
Mr. Brannen was a native and lifelong resident of Bulloch County and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a retired farmer and cattleman. An avid hunter and fisherman, Mr. Brannen was a lifetime member the Portal Hunting Club and was also a member of the Go Bar Hunting Club. Mr. Brannen was a Mason and a lifelong Shriner. He was preceded in death by his wives, Margaret Brinson Brannen and Clara Youngblood Brannen. He was also preceded in death by 7 brothers, Inman Brannen, Mike Brannen, Burton Brannen, Hugh Brannen, William Brannen, Jack Brannen and Charles Brannen; 5 sisters, Selma Brannen Lanier, Hubie Brannen Anderson, Lucy Brannen Shearouse, Mary Nell Brannen Lewis and Daisy Pearl Brannen Gillis.
Mr. Brannen is survived by his sons, Paul Wayne Brannen and Donald Douglas Brannen, both of Statesboro; sister, Betty Brannen Akins of Statesboro; grandchildren, Bryan Brannen, David Wayne Brannen, Deanna Brannen, Russell Brannen and Mandy Brannen.
The family will receive friends 6:30 – 8:00 PM Thursday, July 10, in Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held 10:00 AM Friday, July 11, in the Chapel of Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
