Mrs. Sally Kay Stokes, age 64, went home to be with her Lord on October 5, 2018. The Bulloch County native was born to David Dorsey Woods, Sr. and Iris Louise Bazemore Woods on March 8th, 1954. As a young woman she worked at Dairy Queen, later for Brazwell’s Food Company, then to Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation. Mrs. Stokes retired from Gulfstream after 25 years of service as a metal mechanic. In her retirement years she enjoyed cooking, reading, and taking care of her fur babies. She was a great woman, truly a living angel on Earth who will be dearly and sadly missed. She is preceded in death by sisters, Dorothy Woods and Lee Woods and brother, David Woods, Jr.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Mr. Earl Stokes; son, Chris Faircloth Stokes (Dana); daughter, Kindra Lanier Stokes; sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Tommy Ward; nephews, Randy Ward and Larry Ward.
A memorial service will be held Friday, October 12, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Corner Stone Church, 500 Woodrow Ave., Statesboro, GA 30458 with Reverend Tommy Ward officiating.
