Sarah Hagan Fowler

Mrs. Fowler was born in Bulloch county and attended Esler and Nevils Schools. Sarah married Leonard Garnett Fowler on May 22, 1945 and then moved to Winter Haven, FL, where they lived for 66 years before returning to Bulloch County to be closer to their family, in April 2011. While in Winter Haven, Sarah worked for many years as a cafeteria worker with the Polk County Board of Education and was a member of the Inman Park Baptist Church. She currently was a member of Leefield Baptist Church and enjoyed sewing, cooking and crocheting.

Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, John Daniel and Ellie Brewton Hagan, her brothers and sisters; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and her loving and devoted husband of 69 years, Leonard Garnett Fowler.

Mrs. Fowler is survived by her son, Richard Fowler and his wife, Janice Sue of Wildwood, FL; daughters, Janice Jones and her husband, Gerald of Brooklet and Sandra Lancaster and her husband, Charles of Ellabell; seven grandchildren, Dean Jones (Sandy); Debbie Marotte (Mike); Alan Fowler (Stacy); Angela Ross; Scott Lancaster (Angie); John Lancaster (Angel); Michael Lancaster (Stacey); 14 great grandchildren, Justin Marotte (Charlene), Whitney Fowler, Jessi Fowler, Amber Jones, Tyler Jones, Sophia Ross, Nicholas Lancaster (Kerstin), Brittany Lancaster, C.J. Lancaster, James Lancaster, Matthew Lancaster, Tristain Overmon, Sarah Lancaster and Lydia Lancaster; two great great grandchildren, Felix Lancaster and Landon “Little L. G.” Marotte; many nieces and nephews also survive.

A gathering of family and friends will be held 5:00 to 7:00 PM Friday, May 27, 2016 in Hodges-Moore Funeral home.

The funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, May 28, 2016 in the chapel of Hodges-Moore Funeral Home with Reverend Daniel Strickland and Reverend Dan Bryant officiating. Burial will follow in Corinth-Leefield Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Justin Marotte, Nicholas Lancaster, C.J. Lancaster, James Lancaster, Matthew Lancaster, Tristain Overmon and Sean Henley.
