

Mrs. Sharon Elizabeth Stubbs Adams, age 68, died Thursday March 5th, at her home after a brief illness. She was a native of Indianapolis, Indiana, but had lived in Statesboro most of her life. Sharon was a 1968 graduate of Wesleyan College. She was an Editor with McGraw-Hill in New York City, taught English and Speech at Jenkins County High School and presently was the V.P and Treasure of Dr. John C. Adams, Jr. P.C., Psychology Practice. She was a Charter member of Pittman Park United Methodist Church but, more recently she was a member of Statesboro First United Methodist Church where she had served as a Sunday School Teacher and served on several church committees. Sharon was past president of Statesboro Junior Women’s Club, and past chairman of the Attic Sale. She was also past president of several PTA organizations . She was Owner and Operator of Statesboro Merchant Credit Bureau and Co-Owner of Ogeechee Travels Unlimited.
But most of all Sharon was a loving and devoted Wife, Mother and Grandmother to her family.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. John Chesley Adams, Jr. of Statesboro , one Daughter and Son in Law, Susan Elisabeth Adams Sisson (Lew), Marietta, Ga. Three sons and two daughters in laws John Chesley Adams, III. of Athens, Ga., Christian Bridges Adams (Carrie) of St. Louis, Missouri, and Thomas Everett Adams (Meg), Powder Springs, Ga. ; two sisters and one brother in law, Margaret Jolayne Brannen, CA and Susan Jones (Alec) of McDonough, Ga. 5 granddaughters, sister in law, Gwen Stubbs, Greenville, SC. ; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Saturday evening at Hodges-Moore Funeral Home from 5-7 pm.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 8th, 2015 at 2:30 pm at the Statesboro First United Methodist Church with Rev. Jimmy Cason officiating.
Burial will be in Eastside Cemetery.
