William Lucious "Bill" Howell Sr.

William Lucious "Bill" Howell, Sr. passed away Sunday, December 13, 2015 in Baptist Medical Center South in Jacksonville, FL.

Bill was born in Brooklet and graduated from Brooklet High School in 1955. He had lived in Jacksonville, FL and Atlanta for many years before returning to live in Brooklet eight years ago. Bill was a former member of Brooklet Primitive Baptist Church and worked for many years as a truck driver with Coyote Enterprises and Howell Trucking Company. Mr. Howell was preceded in death by his parents, Lucious and Ella Beasley Howell; his step-father, Doris Beasley; and his wife, Madalene Rushing Howell.

Bill is survived by two sons, William L. "Bubba" Howell, Jr. and his wife, Arianne of Atlanta and Robert Bowers and his wife, Hope of Barnwell, SC; two daughters, Theresa A. Blankenship and her husband, Gregg of Atlanta and Susanne Roderick and her husband, Phillip of Statesboro; sister, Betty Twiggs of Pembroke; five grandchildren, Shane, Lindsey, Ashley, Jordan and Jason; one expected granddaughter, Madilyn Star; 6 great-grandchildren, Judson, River, Hayden, Sophia, Walker and Kaylee Grace; two nieces and one nephew.

The family will receive friends 3:00 to 5:00 PM Saturday, December 19, 2015 in Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.

A memorial service will be held at 5:00 PM Saturday, December 19, 2015 in the Chapel of Hodges-Moore Funeral Home with Reverend Patrick McElveen officiating.
