William Monroe “Bo” Tompkins, Jr, age 48, passed away Monday, April 16, 2018 in Ogeechee Area Hospice surrounded by his loving family.
Bo was born and raised in Savannah and was a 1987 graduate of Johnson High School. After graduation, Bo joined the United States Marines serving honorably for six years in Southwest Asia and did two tours of duty in the Gulf War. Bo returned to Savannah after his time in the military and then moved to Stilson in 2000 and then to Brooklet in 2008. He worked as a construction supervisor for several construction companies and was a member of the Heat and Frost Pipe Insulators and Allied Workers Local 96 and was a former Mason. He enjoyed camping and fishing, but especially enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and being a family man.
Bo is survived by his wife, Christina Anne Tompkins of Brooklet; son, Caden Tompkins of Brooklet; daughters, Airen Tompkins, Amanda Allhiser and Brittany Allhiser all of Statesboro; parents, William M. “Billy” and Faye Tompkins, Sr. of Savannah; sister, Kristi Emerson and her husband, Todd of Savannah; brothers, Bren Tompkins of Savannah and Jamie Todd and his wife, Erica of Brooklet; grandchildren, Madelyn DeLoach and Lakelynn Sorrell; four nieces and five nephews.
A gathering of family and friends will be held 4:00 to 6:00 PM Friday, April 20th in Hodges-Moore Funeral Home immediately followed by the funeral service, with military honors, in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Michael O. Jones officiating.
A private interment will be held.
