

Mrs. Wynelle “Nell” Brown, age 81, died Sunday at Azalea Health and Rehabilitation in Metter.
She was born in Calhoun County and but lived in Bulloch County for the last sixty three years. Mrs. Brown attended Georgia Teachers College and obtained her BS in Education. She continued her education at Georgia Southern College where she received her Masters Degree her Education Specialist Degree. She taught for thirty three years in the Bulloch County School System and retired in 1988. She was a member of the Bulloch Retired Educators Association, Georgia Retired Educators Association, and the Eta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Association. Mrs. Brown was also a lifetime Charter member of the National WWII Memorial, Statesboro Friends of the Library, a longtime member of the Statesboro First Baptist Church where she was active in the Lydia Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emerson “Red” Brown; her sisters, Margaret Brice, Ruby Sealy, and Ruth Hester; her brothers, Tommy Manry, Robert Manry, J.T. Manry, and Gene Manry.
Survivors include her daughters, Kim (Robin) Harrison of Calhoun, GA, Kathy Tucker of Statesboro, GA, and Karen Hagan of Enterprise, AL; five grandchildren, Jarrod Bohler of Sulphur, AL, Brent Belcher of Perry, GA, Brandon Palmer, Sarah Tucker, and Will Tucker, all of Statesboro; three great grandchildren, Addie and Isabel Bohler, and Nataleigh Belcher; her sisters-in-law, Frannie Manry of Blakely, GA, Carolyn Manry of Harlington, TX, and Barbara Manry of Jarrettsville, MD, and Amelia (Bob) Snyder of Statesboro, GA; and Kenny Tucker of Statesboro, GA.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. at Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 1:00 P.M. at the Statesboro First Baptist Church.
Burial will be in Eastside Cemetery.
