Allene M. Cartner

Mrs. Allene McCubbins Cartner, age 94, of Cleveland, North Carolina, went home be with to the Lord on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 after a stay at the Laurels in Salisbury. She was born April 23, 1931 to the late Archie "Mack" McCubbins and Nora Pearl McCubbins.

Allene graduated from Cleveland High School in 1949. She married Boyden Crawford Cartner in 1949, and was a life-long member of South River Church in Woodleaf. She volunteered at the church food pantry and Rowan Helping Ministries. She worked at Arco Engineering and Rowan Memorial Hospital. She did crafts and decorated anything and everything

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Boyden Cartner; and sisters, Edith Cauble, Helen Lyerly, and Mary Emma Fleming.

She is survived by her daughter, Vicki Cartner; sisters Nell Thompson and Willie Kate Walkup; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Allene will be held on Monday, June 2, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at South River Church, with the funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m.
