Barbara Jean Browning, 59, of 1510 Brison Rd. Woodleaf, N.C. died Sunday, October 23, 2011 at Iredell Memorial Hospital. Born in Rowan County on December 5, 1951, she was a daughter of the late David Brison Browning and Mary Reavis Browning. Barbara was a raw materials inspector for Bali, was a member of South River United Methodist Church and a former volunteer with her mother at the V.A. Medical Center in Salisbury. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, David Ronald Browning.
Survivors include a sister, Carolyn Floyd of Rossville, Ga. and nieces and nephews: Stephanie Jones, Roni Mothershead, Trey Floyd, Brandi Floyd, Cody Floyd and Krystina Floyd.
Services celebrating Barbara's life will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at South River United Methodist Church with Rev. Randy Powell officiating. She will lie in state at the church for thirty minutes prior to the service and burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 P.M. Tuesday evening at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home.
