

He was born December 29, 1925, in Buffalo, New York, and was a son of the late Walter and Margaret Oelkers Coller. He was a retired tool and dye maker for Moog Inc. and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was an active member holding offices in the Order Of The Eastern Star and Ancient, Free & Accepted Masons and attended Rose Chapel United Methodist Church. He loved building model ships, and also loved boats and boating.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Torrington Coller.
Survivors include a son, Brian Coller and his wife, Debra, with whom Mr. Coller made his home; a daughter, Susan Coller also of Statesville, along with two sisters, Mrs. JoAnne Midlick and Mrs. Mariella Marr; four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Services celebrating Mr. Coller's life will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Sunday at Rose Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Ralph Lepley and Rev. Lynne Lepley officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall.
