Betty Cook Elder

Mrs. Betty Cook Elder, 89, of 134 Copperhead Dr., Mooresville, died Friday July 19th at her home. Born in Iredell County on May 25, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Robert Percy Cook and Mamie Rash Cook. She worked at Cascade Mills in Mooresville for 15 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ross Eugene Elder and a grandson, Robert (Andy) Raven.

Survivors include a son, Roger (Dale) Elder of Mooresville, and daughters: Betsy Strickland, of Mooresville and Tina E. Bryant and husband, James, of Milton, N.C., two grandchildren, Amy Leatherwood and Faith Eagen and four great grandchildren, Brittany Creech, Emily Mason, Robert Mason and Taylor Eagan.

Services celebrating Betty's life will be conducted at 2:00 today (Sunday) at Westmoreland Chapel of Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
