

Mrs. Cora Frances Greeson Gatton, 87, formerly of 527 Troutman Farm Rd. Statesville, died Thursday December 27, 2012 at Mapleleaf Health Care Center. Born in Alamance County on February 22, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Lacy Anthony Greeson and Daisy K. Loy Greeson. She was retired from the alterations business and was a member of Troutman Baptist Church where she was also a member of the Golden Age Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen A. Gatton and was also preceded in death by brothers: Paul, John, Walter, Samuel, Keith and J. R. Greeson.
Survivors include four sons, John A. Gatton (Brenda), George A. Gatton (Nancy), David W. Gatton (Barbara) and Mark R. Gatton (Susan) all of Statesville. Also surviving is a brother, Jesse L. Greeson of Eden, along with 6 grandchildren: Chris Gatton, Jason Gatton (Erin), Sara Gatton Hadden (Patrick), David Gatton, Makayla Gatton and Angie Johnson (David), and 7 great grandchildren: Chasity Davis, Emma Hadden, Grace Hadden, Addison Gatton, Ethan Moore, D.J. Johnson and Alyssa Johnson along wth two great great grandchildren, Kayleigh Davis and Jadon Ellis.
Services celebrating Mrs. Gatton's life will be conducted at 11:00 Saturday at Westmoreland Chapel of Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Kramm officiating. Burial will follow in the Iredell Memorial Gardens. The famiily will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
