David Charles Barnette

He was born November 24, 1946, in Iredell County and was the son of the late Coyte E. and Virgie Rash Barnette. He was a U.S. Army veteran, a member of Grassy Knob Baptist Church, and retired maintenance manager with Coca-Cola.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Barnette; and a brother-in-law, Alex Alexander.

His is survived by a daughter, Andrea (Christopher) Katz of Ashburn, VA; two sisters, M. Evangeline “Van” (Jack) Mayberry of Olin and Carolyn Alexander of Georgia; and three grandchildren, Kyra Katz, Gyllian Katz and Ian Katz.

Memorial service celebrating David’s life will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, August 16, 2015, at Grassy Knob Baptist Church.

The family will speak with friends immediately following the service.
