

Mr. David Robert Fredenburg, 77, of 214 S. Greenbriar Rd. Statesville, died November 9, 2010 at his home. Born in LaFargeville, New York on January 31, 1933 he was a son of the late Bessie Winifred Demerest. Mr. Fredenburg retired after 30 years in the United States Air Force and then worked for the Torrington Company. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and a "handyman" and loved working in his yard.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Dawn Valentine Fredenburg of the home, a son, Robert Fredenburg, two daughters, Debbie Caulley and her husband, Bill and Donna Swiney and her husband, Ed. Also surviving are brothers, Douglas, Henry and Charles Fredenburg and sisters: June Schram and Edna. Additional survivors include grandchildren: Christina Caulley, Melissa Caulley, Amy Swiney and Eddie Swiney and a great grandaughter, Makenna Swiney.
Services celebrating Mr. Fredenburg's life will be conducted at 9:00 A.M. Friday at the Westmoreland Chapel of Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home with Rev. Thomas Southern officiating. The family will speak with friends immediately following the service and then burial will follow at 11:00 at the National Cemetery in Salisbury with full military rites presented by the U.S. Air Force. The family will be assembled at the residence at other times.
